黒黒
Artist: MITCH DOWNVELL
Genre: TRIBAL CORE
5KEYS:
- NORMAL 6

It's previously-unfinished leftovers from Blessed Magical Story...! I'm sorry everything seems so rushed this year. This song originally had a different name, and when a different BMS came out with that same name in that same event, I gave up on finishing it since I had other entries and I was running out of time anyway. I think if this hadn't happened the song might have gone in a different direction. If you're flexible about it then sometimes it can be helpful to have things not go according to plan.
Basically, this was made with the concept of a fantasy-themed MITCH DOWNVELL song, and I figured something with an eerie, spiritual sound to it was the logical fit.
Other potential OLDSKOOL interpretations of fantasy music could be like SpellBound, Arcadia or various oldschool artcores or new age BMS. However, if I went for one of those I'd rather try to modernize it! So I didn't go with any of those directions.
This song is very inspired by UZIEL from 5key beatmania, but MITCH DOWNVELL makes songs based on 5key BMS and not 5key beatmania, so also I worked in influences from old BMS I like as I was working on the song.

I'm not Japanese, so picking a song name for this event was weird! I don't know how it looks to a native speaker, but to me the repeated kanji looks somewhat comical. This can be considered to be in the same series as "pitchblack".
I think the proper name would really be "黒々", but that's not within the rules, so...!
The genre name is TRIBAL CORE, but other than the BPM there's nothing very CORE about it. I named it TRIBAL CORE to make it sound more unique and maybe to annoy genre purists.
I'm usually not consistent about whether I stick to the time period or not when picking samples for MITCH DOWNVELL tracks, but this time I used a lot of Zero-G stuff.
The BGA is simple and technically does not have the actually name of the song in it.
You can say the song's real name is "黒" repeated ad infinitum.
